Урок “My favourite way of travelling” у 6 класі (за підручником О.Д. Карп’юк, з використанням ІКТ)

Objectives: to extend pupils’ knowledge about different means of transport; to develop their speech on the topic “Travelling”; to develop students’ ability to express their thoughts logically; to broaden their outlook.
Equipment: recording and tape-recorder, interactive blackboard
Procedure
I Introduction
T. Good morning, pupils! How are you? I am very glad to see you. What hometask did you have to prepare for today?
Aim of the lesson
T. –Look at these words on the blackboard:
way, travelling, my, of, favourite
– Put them in the correct order to make a sentence.
–What sentence have we got?
–So, today we’ll speak about your favourite ways of travelling.
II Main part
1. Phonetic exercises
a) Repeat the following word-combinations after me:

3. Reading
Pre-reading task
Answer the questions:
– Do you often visit your relatives and friends?
– How often do you visit them?
– How long do you usually stay there?
T. You can see three parts of the text on the blackboard. Try to make a correct story.
Part 1. Time passed, but the visitor did not leave for home. At last the friend decided to say something to the visitor. “Don’t you think,” he said, “that your wife and children want to see you again? You haven’t been at home for such a long time.”
“Thank you very much,” was the answer.”I’ll send for them and we shall have a very good time here all together. All the members of ma family will be very glad. Thank you. You are a very good friend!”
Part 2. People like to visit each other. Sometimes they go on a visit to their friends in another town, and your aunt or uncle may come on a visit to you. Here is a story about a visit which was too long.
Part 3. A man was on a visit to a friend in London, but stayed much longer than was expected. Day after day he went to see interesting places. In the evening he either went to the theatre or watched TV programs with his friend’s family.

Listening to the text “Little Bill”
Little Bill and his father are in the street. In the street they see a lot of cars, trams and buses. Bill looks at the cars. He sees black cars, red cars, green cars and blue cards.
“Look, Bill” says the boy’s father. “Do you see that nice dog?” Bill sees the dog. The dog is little and white. He likes the dog and runs after it.
The dog crosses the street. Bill wants to cross the street, too. But his father runs after him and stops him.
“You must not cross the street when the light is red, my boy”, he says. “We must cross the street when the light is green”.
“Then why does the dog cross the street when the light is red?” asks Bill.
“The dog does not know the street lights”, says Bill’s a father.

Task 1: Are the sentences true or false?

T. Now, pupils, make up the dialogue between the clerk and the passenger
P.: Three, please.
C.: Yes, I can. Here are three tickets. That’ll be 130 hryvnias.
P.: Oh, no. Can you give me three tickets for the day after tomorrow.
C.: Just a minute… I’m sorry but there are only upper berths.
P.: Here’s the money.
C.: The train to Kyiv leaves from platform 4 at 11:25.
P.: Thank you!
C.: How many tickets do you want?
P.: I’d like tickets for the late evening train to Kyiv tomorrow. And I need seats in a sleeping-car. I would like lower berths.
6. Writing (in groups)
T. Write as many questions as you can to the sentence:

Group 3: He has just got out of a taxi.
III. Summarizing
