IV. Homework Checking
Some of the pupils present their projects

V. Presenting Grammar:
The teacher explains the rule:
How do you count uncountable nouns? You can’t, but you can measure them. You have to use “counters”!
You can put something into a container to count it, but the thing you’re counting doesn’t take the plural form. The container takes the plural form:

How much ….? = uncountable nouns
For example: How much coffee do you drink?
How many ….? = countable nouns
For example: How many cups of coffee do you drink?

VI. Relaxation: “The Picnic Basket” ( sung to “The Mulberry Bush”)
Here we go round
The picnic basket,
The picnic basket,
The picnic basket.
Here we go round
The picnic basket,

So early
In the morning.

  • Post-Listening: Memory Game

Pupils sit in a circle and start with the letter “A” : I’m going on a picnic and I’m going to bring (name something with an “A.”) The next pupil has to remember what the “A” item was and add a “B” item, so on and so forth. It’s fun when the pupils have to remember a bunch!

IX. Home Assignment:

  • Pupils have to learn the poem “I Like Food” by heart
  • Pupils have to make a project

Project “My Picnic Basket”

  • Pupils draw and cut picnic baskets.
  • Then they decorate, paint, or colour the baskets as they choose.
  • Pupils take several magazines with a lot of food item pictures to choose from. The pupils may then choose the food they would like to take with them on a picnic.
  • Pupils cut the pictures and place them in the basket.

X. Summing-up. Evaluation
T: You were very active during the lesson, so all of you deserve good marks.
